socially oriented knitting industry
Alpakita is a social knitting business that relies on the handwork of its Peruvian knitters, innovative knitting ideas and the special properties of alpaca wool. We are not a non-profit organization that is financed through ongoing donations and grants. We face the challenge of the free economy. You, the customer, are our driving force for designing elegant, fashionable knitting models, processing high-quality alpaca wool and improving the quality of the handwork. We reinvest the success and experience in our purpose of paying the Peruvian knitters appropriately for their work. Our goal is to give the women a secure income and to give the knitting craft a future. Our customers appreciate the work that goes into a knitted sweater and understand the price. This appreciation is our economic foundation on which we can work fairly. We are happy about every new knitter that we can employ with knitting tasks. We are particularly happy when mothers pass the craft on to their daughters. In order to continue to maintain this goal, we look forward to your visit.
Alpakita produces innovative baby clothes, durable children's knitwear that grows with the child, classic knitwear for adults, cuddly and family blankets, elegant scarves and hats, accessories and even doll clothes.
As a socially oriented business, we attach great importance to knowing each of our knitters personally. The women knit without stress and bring warmth to each piece. Alpakita finances itself through the sale of handcrafts, with the aim of becoming better. This also allows us to finance training and knitting techniques. Our aim is to surprise our loyal customers with new knitting models and to win new customers. We know that hand-knitted wool products are worn for a long time, have particularly positive properties and leave an ecological footprint. We work responsibly and transparently. Support us, let us move into the future together with the Peruvian knitters.
Alpakita faces the challenge of poverty reduction
We want to make a contribution to alleviate poverty in Peru. Fair payment for handicrafts should improve the financial situation of the women who knit. This will enable the women to feed their families safely and afford health care if they are ill. With every sweater or baby scarf sold, we can commission more knitting. We want to give the women the confidence that their handicrafts are valued and are an important contribution to the future of handicrafts themselves.
We are especially happy when the children of the knitters can attend a proper school education.
An embroidery business concept
Of course, social commitment also means great financial challenges and requires a special sensitivity. Only if we appeal to the tastes of customers and craftsmen, the quality meets the requirements of customers and knitters, and costs and earnings harmonize, can we achieve a win-win situation for everyone. The running costs also have to be constantly coordinated and documented.
Alpakita's slogan
Do you know our slogan, which consists of three simple words and is intended to describe the handicrafts knitted with love? Alpakita is "Embellishing and Beautiful" . I would be happy if these words appeal to your feelings and associate the feel-good feeling of our alpaca wool. Close your eyes and imagine your favourite model in your favourite colour.
