FRITZ Baby sweater
We thought about developing a warm and comfortable baby sweater that can be worn at home and outdoors. The alpaca sweater is designed to keep the little body warm and dry when sitting in the stroller, romping around on the playground or meeting the little ones. Our hand-knitted FRITZ sweater in the men's and women's collections is particularly popular due to its special design, comfortable wool and thermal properties. So we thought about which design properties are important for babies.
Our grandparents had found that knitted clothes for babies looked fashionable on the one hand, and could also keep the child's body dry and warm on the other. The bristly new wool had one disadvantage: it was scratchy and could irritate sensitive skin. Not so with fine alpaca wool. The fiber is much thinner and not as bristly, which makes the wool feel woolly soft. Alpaca wool contains hardly any wool fat, which irritates the skin. Both of these things speak for woolly soft properties for baby clothes. Our style is to make simple knitted sweaters for babies in classic colors fashionable again.
