The Adela socks are made from 100% baby alpaca and are a true masterpiece of handcraft.
Our knitter Adela knits each sock with great care and constant improvement – her work is becoming more and more perfect.
We recommend these socks for their warmth and softness, which make them particularly comfortable to wear.
socks ADELA
Our goal is to create sustainable and environmentally conscious fashion. In conventional textile production, a lot of waste is generated from fabric scraps that can no longer be used. The advantage of our knitwear is that it is knitted from a long wool yarn.
If the thread is too short for larger items such as sweaters or scarves, we pass the leftover wool on to Ms. Adela. She transforms it into wonderfully soft and warm socks, which are made from the leftovers and thus reduce waste.
Before we discovered Adela, she sold sweets in the city of Huaraz to make a living.
Since she started knitting for us, Adela no longer has to stand outside in the bitter weather. She can knit the socks from the comfort of her own home while she waits for her daughter to come home from school. This not only gives her time to help her with her studies, but also a stable income from her handiwork.
